Every day our body is forced to fight against toxins (coming from food, medication, stress, fatigue, pollution, unhealthy eating habits, smoking, alcohol). His efficiency is, unfortunately, limited. So here are a few recommendations regarding detoxification:

– a detox program should last at least 3 days and not more than 2 weeks;
– quit smoking, alcohol, coffee, sugar, fat;
– avoid eating white bread, pasta or rice, cookies, sweets, red meat, fermented cheese, smoked products;
– choose whole grain products (bread, cereals, brown rice, pasta), dried vegetables (beans, peas, lentils, chickpeas), nuts (almonds, walnuts, peanuts), wheat germ;
– eat as much fresh vegetables (tomatoes, salad, cabbage, zucchini, pepper, spinach, broccoli, celery, beetroot, asparagus) and fruits (grapes, bananas, cherries, apricots, melon, apples, pineapple, strawberries, plums) as you can;
– drink fresh juices made from vegetables and fruits;
– eat vegetable soups (these are rich in trace minerals, especially in potassium, and give you a feeling of fullness);
– eat fat fish (is rich in omega-3 fatty acids), seafood, skimmed dairy products;
– eat products that have in their composition probiotics: yogurt, yeast;
– cook the food by steaming it or in the oven;
– use herbs (rosemary, basil, savory, pepper, ginger);
– drink plenty of water (including mineral water), green tea or other kind of teas;

– drink a glass of warm water with freshly squeezed lemon juice (lemon is known for its purifying property);
– you should have regularly three meals/day (dinner should be frugal);
– physical activities are a very important part of your detox program. You may also try yoga, massage, sauna or Pilates exercises.
– sleep at least 7 hours/night;
– do not let stress and negative energy destroy your balance and harmony;
– find time to yourself and for your hobbies.
